Visual Essay
Following the completion of the typeface, a visual essay was crafted, culminating in a poster for the "type + lab" exhibition at the Lisbon School of Design. Originating from the design of a font inspired by an existing vinyl record, the subsequent challenge involved translating this typeface into a poster.
My approach aimed to elevate the font to a more graphic level by creating diverse symbols, drawing inspiration from tribal aesthetics. Each symbol, derived from the characters of the font, is intricately constructed, and I opted for a clean grid layout in black on white to showcase their complexity. The pyramid serves as the final touch, embodying the culmination of tribal inspiration in the overall design.
Criação de poster para projecto expositivo “tipo+lab”. Com base na tipografia criada, foi lançado o desafio de conceber um poster. A ideia foi elevar o tipo de letra a outro nível mais gráfico e criar diversos símbolos, utilizando os vários caracteres do tipo de letra criado, algo com inspiração tribal. Uma vez cada símbolo já é por si uma construção mais complexa, optou-se por uma disposição em grelha simples. A pirâmide é o link final para a inspiração tribal.
